Brotherly love is such a powerful emotion that it cannot help but touch the heart of every man and woman. It is not limited to the human species. This video clearly demonstrates the love between these two pitbull puppies.
How The Story of Brotherly Love Began
The story of Keiko and Niko will melt the heart of the toughest man. Watch out! You may be blubbering by the time the video is over.
Briefly, the Niko and Keiko were two of several Pittie puppies in a litter bred to be used in dogfighting. Thankfully, they were rescued before making it to the horrors of the fighting arena.
The wonderful couple who adopted Keiko wanted to take Niko as well. Unfortunately, the legal restrictions on how many dogs a family could have prohibited them from doing so.
Niko was adopted as well as the rest of the litter. Therefore, the couple relaxed, thinking he was happy in a safe home. Sadly, it wasn’t long before they found out that abusers had adopted Keiko’s sweet brother, Niko.
Thankfully, Niko was rescued and up for adoption again. The moment Keiko’s “Mom” and “Dad” found out what had happened to Niko, they wanted to adopt him.
They had wanted to adopt him when they adopted his brother you will recall the law did not allow them to do so. Sadly, their older dog had recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge. This meant that they could now adopt another dog.
They contacted the rescue group immediately and told them they wanted the brothers to be together again. The rescue group knew that this was a wonderful home and would be a great place for Niko.
Niko’s owners had not treated him very well. He had become extremely fearful and timid. Somehow, he remained sweet and lovable but terrified to be alone.
Keiko and Niko Are Reunited
The moment Keiko and Niko saw one another, they each immediately recognized their brother. From the time they were first reunited, they became inseparable.
As long as they are together, Niko enjoys walking on the beach and interacting with others. His confidence is building and he is starting to trust people again.
Poor Keiko never has a moment alone! However, he never seems to get aggravated with the constant demands on his attention and time. He seems to say, “He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother!”
You will see what I mean when you watch this video. It is one of the most touching videos I have seen in a very long time. They should make a Disney feature film about Niko and Keiko!
