Stray Dog Rescued Abandoned Baby

Stray Dog Rescued Abandoned Baby

The Brazilian Press Reports on How a Stray Dog Rescued Abandoned Baby Found In a Dump

Life With Dogs reported that a stray female dog saved the life of a newly delivered baby with an intact umbilical cord. The dog ever so gently carried the baby boy in its mouth out of the Campinas, Brazil dump. Amazingly, she proceeded to deliver the infant to the nearest house, unharmed.

The picture of this dog gently carrying the newborn baby in its mouth is available for those wishing to see it. Some people may find it too graphic and others will find it beautifully touching. If you want to see the photos, let me know in the comment section. I will send it to you via FB Messenger or your email address. (if it is preferred and available to me)

The stunned residents of the house transferred the newborn to the closest hospital for evaluation and care. Physicians who evaluated and treated the baby stated that he was in good shape. This was especially true for a baby abandoned in a garbage dump.

The article further said that the baby’s mother was being sought for by the local authorities. This event took place some time ago. There was no update on the mother’s identification or location.

Dueling Claims of Location???

Are There Two Situations in Which a Stray Dog Rescued a New Born Baby?

Unbelievably, a different news report claims that this incident occurred elsewhere. The report stated it did not happen in Brazil. They claim it occurred in Oman, a nation of the Middle East. They are very similar stories but do differ in a few details.

Maybe there are two dogs with tender hearts and mouths that rescued different babies from a dump! After all, truth is stranger than fiction, they say. We have no way of knowing for sure. It is likely that this event did happen. However, we cannot guarantee where it happened.

The opposing news reports that the amazing rescue occurred in Kharbika, Oman. Their version of the story includes a biker who observed a stray dog walking nearby. The man noticed that the dog was holding something gently in its mouth.

When the man saw what appeared to be drops of blood, he went close enough to get a better look. He had a difficult time believing his eyes! In the stray dog’s mouth was a newborn male baby with an intact umbilical cord.

Another Report Backs Up The Brazilian Claim

Univision reports that this dramatic rescue did take place in Brazil. I cannot prove which location is the correct one, or if more than one rescue took place. However, the photos indicate it did happen somewhere.

This report is a fantastic story of how a stray dog saved the life of a newborn baby. A story like this deserves to be told, regardless of where it happened.

Not the First Time Such a Dramatic Rescue From a Dump Has Been Reported. A Dog Rescued An Abandoned Baby in Thailand As Well

A very similar incident occurred in Thailand in 2013. This time, it was a premature baby girl who was left to die. She had been placed in a plastic bag and abandoned in a roadside dump. Pui, a dog belonging to a family in the province of Ayutthaya, found the baby girl while rummaging in the landfill. She then gently carried the dog home to her family.

Once back home, Pui barked loudly until 12-year-old Sudarat Thongmak came outside to see what was upsetting her dog. The girl was shocked to find the baby, especially with the umbilical cord firmly attached. Thankfully, the baby was still breathing and was rushed to the hospital. She was not only premature, but her condition was also listed as critical. The baby girl required extensive medical treatment to survive.

Pummarat, Sudarat’s mother, indicated an interest in adopting the baby girl. Pui received a medal and a special certificate from the Red Cross. I am sure that the money award Pui received to help pay for food for the family dogs was also appreciated.
