Lost Puppy Saved By A Goose???

Susan Sloan January 28, 2020

Have you ever heard of a puppy saved by a goose? I know geese have been used to protect property and that they can be quite vicious at times. This is the first time I have heard of a goose being a rescuer instead of a defender of property.

Stories about dogs becoming lost or left out in the cold always touch my heart. However, when that canine is a small puppy, it is even more heart-rending.

Why Did The Puppy Need To Be Saved By A Goose?

This poor little fellow was out on a walk with his human family when a loud noise frightened him. He bolted and ran away in fear, becoming separated from his family. He was not abandoned by them.

They searched high and low for their precious pup, hoping to find him before the sun went down. Unfortunately, they had no luck in finding him before darkness fell. They continued searching for hours, using the streetlights and their flashlights in the growing darkness. Eventually, exhaustion overtook them and they had to admit it was best to wait until morning to continue their search.

It was hard for them to sleep knowing that their puppy was lost in the cold, dark night. Their greatest hope was that a rescue team had found him. If he had been rescued and was safe overnight, they would be able to bring him home in the morning.

As the night grew darker and colder than the weatherman had predicted, they became more concerned. The temperatures were dropping rapidly and dropped to near freezing. This meant that their puppy’s life was in danger if he had not been rescued or found a warm hiding place.

Their hope was fading with the darkening of the night and lowering of the temperatures. They had no way of knowing if he had found shelter or not. Not only the children shed tears as they wondered and worried over their lost puppy who was very much a part of the family by now.

Miracles Do Still Happen

After a night of tossing and turning, the family was thrilled to find out that a miracle had taken place. The puppy had been rescued after all, but not by a shelter volunteer. It was not even a human who had saved their little lost puppy from the bitter cold.

It was a shock for them to find out that their puppy had been saved by a goose! A passerby happened to come upon a very strange sight when taking a morning walk. They took photos of the very unusual finding to share with others. It touched their heart and they knew it would touch our hearts as well. Like them, I am passing on these photos

More Details of How This Lost Puppy Was Saved By A Goose

Thankfully, the lost puppy survived the frigid night but it was with a little help from a friend. This new friend was quite unusual and it caught the imagination of many people who saw these photos on the internet.

Although no one could have imagined such a thing happening, this lost puppy was saved by a goose. We have no idea how the two found one another but, as providence would have it, they did. Luckily for the puppy, this goose was not in defense mode but was a protector.

As we all know, goose feathers are used to insulate sleeping bags, coats and duvets to keep people warm. Wrapping the puppy in its wings, the goose shared the warmth of its feathers with him. Not only did he save the puppy’s life, but he also kept him toasty warm and comforted.

Come Morning, the Puppy Was Found By A Passerby

The small, lost puppy found refuge in the wings of a caring goose who kept him safe and warm all night long. When morning came, a person walked upon the strange sight of a goose cuddling small pup in its wings. It seemed to be a miracle. This goose demonstrated caring and empathy for a creature unlike itself. And, most likely, the goose had saved the puppy’s life. The goose had literally provided wings of life to the freezing pup.

It was such a touching moment. The passerby could not resist snapping photos of the puppy wrapped up in the wings of the empathetic goose. At that moment, it appeared as though the goose wanted to show off the puppy. It opened it wings so the person could see the puppy better. Maybe it was saying, “ Look at what I have done for this puppy.”

The passerby gently removed the puppy from the wings of the life-saving goose. It had completed its role in keeping the lost puppy alive and warm all night long. Now, it was time for another species to demonstrate empathy and to take the puppy home

Eventually, with the help of the photographer of these photos and the local shelter, the lost puppy was reunited with its family.

A Lesson To Be Learned

Maybe the goose wanted to encourage humans to be more caring of other species as well. We see so many incidents of humans being unkind to animals today. Some of us need a reminder that we all can be kinder to one another, same species or not. Why not share this story to remind others of this vital fact?
