Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa For Dogs!

Susan Sloan March 7, 2022

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa for dogs! Sadly, many homeless dogs spend Christmas day inside an animal shelter. This is incredibly common among senior dogs, which aren’t very popular among potential adopters. But, occasionally, a kind soul will take home one of these these geriatric dogs.  For some of these very lucky dogs, it is the first time they have a real home on Christmas!

One such lucky senior dog is Chloe.  She had never experienced celebrating Christmas inside a home. Fortunately for Chloe, when she became a foster dog she was taken home by a very special man. Her foster parent was Chris and he wanted her to experience something he likes to call “Christmas magic.” He is really like a Santa for dogs!

Once Chloe had settled into his home, Chris immediately noticed something about her. She always wanted to be near a window and she took every opportunity to look outside. Chris could tell that she was hoping for someone to take her outside.

It was clear that she wanted to go out for a walk, so he indulged her as often as he could. She had been confined to a small space in the shelter for so long that taking a walk outside was a real treat for Chloe!

Chris took Chloe to places beyond his backyard. For example, they explored forest trails and parks as often as p. Chloe had a lot of energy that needed to be released, and the long walks and hikes were perfect for her.

This Santa for dogs made Chloe’s holiday season very special.

This Santa for dogs made sure that Chloe experienced many Christmas festivities leading up to Christmas day. He took her on car rides to see fancy Christmas lights around his area. She seemed to enjoy watching Chris wrap Christmas gifts and watched eagerly as he put up his Christmas decorations.

When Christmas day finally arrived, Chris gave Chloe a very special gift. She received a meaty bone that looked absolutely delicious. She wasted no time and immediately started munching on it. All the while, Chris took photos and video recordings of Chloe enjoying her gift.

Chris spoiled Chloe the entire time she stayed with him. She felt loved not only by Chris but by and his friends and family as well. This is what Chris meant when he said he would let the dog know what Christmas magic is like. This is why we call him a Santa for dogs.

Chloe is not the only dog that Chris has blessed during the holidays. Each year, he fosters several dogs who have never experienced life in a loving home. You can find more information about Chris and his fostering adventures below.
