Great Dane Spends A Lazy Afternoon In The Pool

Susan Sloan April 23, 2021

Dogs love to have fun and, sometimes, that includes spending a lazy afternoon in the pool. Not all canine fun involves chasing balls or frisbees.

Even if they merely sit back and take a look at their surroundings, most dogs won’t mind doing it so long as it is their choice to do so. In this video clip, a laid-back Great Dane takes the opportunity to enjoy swimming in their pool while taking an occasional break by resting on a float.

Even as “Mom” chats and asks how she’s feeling, this chilled out Dane ignores the woman, carrying on with her relaxing float around the pool. She also seems to be taking all the sites around her as she lazily floats around the pool.

Are You Enjoying Your Lazy Afternoon In The Pool, Katie?

In this adorable and calming video clip, one initially sees a wet Great Dane named Katie enjoying herself in a pool. With the way it looks, Katie’s taking a break from her diving stint on a floater.

Lazy day in the pool

For the first few seconds, the Great Dane merely enjoys taking a look at her surroundings. Yet, as Katie’s about to carry on with her activity, “Mom” interrupts her musings and asks her how she’s feeling.

Hearing “Mom’s” voice, Katie slowly looks in her direction and makes eye contact with her. But, instead of barking to respond, the super relaxed Dane merely gazes in the woman’s direction.

Leave Me Be, Mom, Please?

As the video progresses, “Mom” continues chitchatting with Katie. But, like earlier, the Great Dane merely carries on with her constant gazing at the woman. But, evidently “Mom” does not catch on to the message that Katie is trying to convey.

Despite this, she carries on talking to Katie, even to the point of describing what’s happening. But, the pair’s eye contact soon breaks when the Great Dane’s pool floatie slowly bobs towards the left.

Even as Katie moves away, “Mom” merely carries on with her chitchat and even praises Katie for being a good girl. Do you think this time the Dane pays attention to what is being said? Well, you’ll need to watch the full episode in the linked footage below to find out.

This article is not about a dog relaxing in the pool but swimming for his life in the ocean. Will he be rescued? Find out here. https://happymutt.org/oil-rig-workers-rescue-dog-swimming-135-miles-off-the-coast/
