Wrong dog? Could you ever imagine, in your wildest dreams, that you would not recognize your own dog? How would the rest of your family react if you brought home the wrong dog from the groomer?
Many of us bathe and groom our own dogs. However, some breeds of dogs have challenging coats to manage and professional groomers are needed to keep them looking good. Also, some people have physical conditions that make it hard for them to do even basic grooming.
Wrong Dog or Wrong Kid, Which is Worse?
Dogs and kids have many similarities and many people feel they are very much the same in many ways. At least if kids are old enough to talk, they can let us know if we are trying to take the wrong one home.
However, this does not always happen. We have 2 nieces of the same age who often decided to wear the exact same outfits to elementary school. This was usually done without consulting with one another.
These cute little blondes looked a great deal alike and were often mistaken for twins. Unfortunately, they were in the same class at school as well. Their teacher mistook them for one another more than once and the girls found it hilarious.
One more than one occasion at both church and school, their mothers were in too much of a hurry. They did not pay enough attention to which little girl’s hand they grabbed on the way out the door.
It was not until they got out of the car at home that they realized they had the wrong child. At least they were related. The girls thought it was much funnier than did their respective parents.
Taking care of your dog requires pretty much the same energy and time as does taking care of a human child. However, kids can let you know if something is wrong much easier than can your dog.
Without actual words, dogs are limited to less distinct sounds and looks that may be misinterpreted. If you are not really paying attention, you might not understand what they are doing their best to tell you.
Man Learns Lesson From Picking Up the Wrong Dog From the Groomer
The “Parent” Is A 22-Year Old Male Student Named Alex
His “Daughter” Is Nieves, A Gorgeous Maltese
What Happened The Fateful Day The Wrong Dog Was Picked Up From The Groomer
As usual, Alex dropped Nieves off for her grooming appointment. His father nearly always was the one to pick her up when the grooming was finished.
This day was no different from the other times Alex dropped her off. He expected his dad to pick Nieves up and to bring her safely home.
No Reason For Concern, Right?
No Way To Keep Alex Quiet About Picking Up The Wrong Dog
Alex and his brother were laughing hysterically about the situation. Alex could not keep from sharing this much fun with his buddies on Twitter.
The response on Twitter was crazy. Everyone joined in on the laughter and share their stories of kids and dogs being mistaken in similar ways.
Not Taking Any Chances On Bringing Home The Wrong Dog Again
I hope the story I shared about my nieces made him feel a little better. Under the right circumstances, it could happen to anyone.
Could It Happen To You?
Here is a very candid shot of our 4-year-old twin grandsons who just had a haircut. Their pre-school teacher says she can no longer tell them apart. Could you imagine mixing them up? Could you mistake one for the other?
